Though Puluong Retreat located in Pu Luong Nature Reserve has not been granted a license, without a master plan as well as environmental impact reports approved by competent authorities, Puluong Retreat investors built and put into operation unasked. That is the rumor spreading all over the place.
For these issues, Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) has just asked their district-level counterparts to temporarily suspend the construction of Puluong Retreat (for all the items have been under construction) and deal with investment-related complaints. The requirements are to temporarily ban the operation and to remedy the breaches and complaints in a reasonable manner. After receiving permission from the competent authority, the retreat is allowed to be back on active services. However, when being asked, the Puluong Retreat’s representative publicly shared that in a small scale, Puluong Retreat provides basic types of accommodation operating in accordance with Business Co-Operation Contract form based on the legal infrastructure for the home-stay service, as specified in clause 2 of The Law on Tourism, pursuant to the decision 186/2006/QĐ-TTG released 14/8/2006 stipulating the forest management rules. The administrative procedures were eventually completed, and all required permission as legal regulations was given.

He also added that the retreat was born for job creation and rising income purposes improving the living conditions of the locals there. Changing the current business form into Capital Investment Project and submitting to Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee are all necessary conditions for restarting their business activities.

I was super lucky to visit Puluong Retreat at the very first days of its operation. It was on the national holiday with my lover. The retreat, from my point of views should be replicated at remote mountainous areas in Vietnam. It is better for locals there. What I enjoyed was native experiences with very natural atmosphere that separate me out of the daily busy lives. The people there were friendly also. For any reasons, I believe it will be back shortly!
