OVERALL VIEW OF TRANG AN LANDSCAPE COMPLEX

The beauty of Vietnam, the eternal topic of mine has gradually been revealed thru each part of An Insider of Vietnam. The land of eighteen heritages listed by UNESCO is a worthy destination of visiting in your next holiday. In this article, a scenic and historic complex of Vietnam recently recognized as a world cultural and natural heritage is overall introduced. Let us enjoy!

Trang An landscape complex where cultural elements and nature converge in a perfect harmony is spectacularly situated in Ninh Binh province, Vietnam. When June comes, a lovely picture that rice paddies are getting yellow with full of subtle perfume at the foot of hills on which green of plants cover vaguely, appears quiet and romantic.

There are many scenic and historic spots in that complex, which have listed as historical relics and special national cultural heritages by the Government of Vietnam, namely Trang An ecological tourist site, Tam Coc- Bich Dong, Hoa Lu ancient capital and Bai Dinh pagoda.

A Special Use Forest covering over 12.000 limestone karst rocks and river – lake system, is the vital link among these tourist spots creating a unique heritage on earth.

Located in the boundary of Hoa Lu, Gia Vien, Nho Quan district and Ninh Binh city, Trang An complex has often been likened to the ancient capital of Viet Nam’s quintessence.

Administratively, Trang An belongs to twelve villages, namely Trung Yen, Ninh Hai, Ninh Hoa, Ninh Xuan, Ninh Van (Hoa Lu); Tân Thanh ward (Ninh Bình city); Gia Sinh; Yên Binh, Yen Son (Tam Diep) and Son Ha, Son Lai (Nho Quan). Most of them still look as tranquil and simple as in the past whose locals are still humble with nature.

The core of Trang An is all around the clock of a special protection from the tourism management of Ninh Binh city with a total of natural area of 4.000 ha.

The complex is nearby on the national roads such as 1A, 38B, 12b highway and rounded by rivers whose sources of water are mainly used for irrigation adding a vital force to rice fields with full of yellow in June.

Main tourist spots include Trang An ecological tourist site (96 kilometers out of Hanoi and about three km from Hoa Lu ancient capital to the south)…

Tam Coc – Bich Dong tourist site, it locates at Ninh Hai village with boating center (about seven kilometers from Ninh Binh city)

The premises of national historical or cultural relic – Hoa Lu ancient capital of Vietnam (11 km out of Ninh Binh city)

Bai Dinh pagoda - a religious tourist spot belongs to Gia Sinh village (about 15 km distant from Ninh Binh city).  It has been the largest pagoda holding numerous records in Southeast Asian countries.

"The best part of beauty is that which no picture can express" and Trang An Landscape complex, a part of the beauty of Vietnam is not also shown in a single aspect. It must be experienced both culture and nature as one.
